I like the thick, comfortable cushion, but do not need the cut out for the sacrum bone. I leave the cut out in the front where my legs are. I originally wanted a Purple seat cushion, and had an opportunity to try both that one and the Types cushion. After trying the Types, I decided that it was even more comfortable than Purple and the price is better.
I love this Ergo Contour cushion. It has a "wedge" shape with the front being lower than the back.This is very good for your posture, your hips and circulation according to my physical therapist and my own experience.
It is wide enough to cover a car seat and not feel like you ever sit on the edge of the cushion. It does hold its shape even after a heavier person (husband) was sitting on it for hours. We liked it so much that we ordered two more for another car and my dining room chair.
The cutout at the back has a handle, not totally necessary if you leave the cushion in one spot, but if you tend to move it regularly from one location to another, it is a very nice added feature.
Customer service of this company has been outstanding. After a UPS mix-up (UPS did not scan a shipment) they promptly send a replacement cushion.
