An integrated smart microprocessor performs battery charging and maintenance in 9 intelligent steps that prolong battery life. In maintenance mode, the repair stage attempts to remove sulfation build-up inside lead-acid batteries with pulse currents.
TYPE S battery chargers and maintainers are designed with safe and smart protections including: reverse polarity protection, short-circuit protection, overcharge & over voltage protection, and high-temperature protection.
Battery chargers and maintainers can prevent lead-acid battery sulfication. Sulfication occurs when a battery us discharged and recharged. It also occurs if a fully charged battery is stored for a period of time. Sulfication will cause loss of cranking power and increased charge times and ultimately shorten battery life. TYPE S battery chargers and maintainers fight sulfication to preserve vehicle battery life.
The battery charger and maintainers can automatically detect and in some cases recover dead batteries that have as little as 0.5V. Batteries with 11.9V or below are considered dead.
