Very quick to setup and easy to install. Instead of using the window/dash board mount system provided, I attached the monitor to to a cup holder cell phone mount. Preface location, easy to see and doesn't block my front windshield view. I have already recommended this product to my sister in law and several friends.
This Camera is great. I been using it for about 5 months now. The big clear screen (day/night), very easy to install, took me about 1 hour tops (make sure you charge everything fully before installation), secure mounting, so far, I have mine on the dash not windshield, and very easy to use. I love that I could keep it on while in Drive, or just tap it when I want to see what s behind me when wanting to change lanes. Also good as added security when sitting in your car to see if anyone is around. After seeing mine, My Brother in-law purchased 2 cameras, one for his truck w/trailer for his boat, and one for his car. Very pleased with my/our purchase(s).
I’m giving this 5 stars even though it stopped pairing after 4 weeks. I was so happy with it that I bought one for my son to use interchangeably on his work trailer and travel trailer. My unit’s pairing went kaput while pairing his unit. Some sort of electronic confusion between neighboring units. I called Type S support. They immediately offered to send me a new unit. Very responsive. And BTW, the unit works fine on my son’s trailer with no line-of-sight between the camera and the monitor over 30 feet away in his truck cab. The camera is also not affected by the super magnets he uses to mount it and move it between the 2 trailers.
I bought this to use on my older Ford F350 since I use it to tow a trailer often and backing up to the trailer was always a hit and miss (mostly miss) process. The install and setup was simple and easy and provides the view that I need of the trailer hitch and the ball. I especially like the ability to move the view up or down. It does have a bit of excess packaging made of plastic which I didn't appreciate but it makes sense if this was going onto shelves in a store. I can't speak for the battery life and if the small solar panel will keep the unit charged. I followed the instruction and fully charged the unit via a USB cable.
Backup camera was easy to set up. The picture is very sharp and will be quite helpful when backing up in my SUV. However, it would be helpful if the "quick install" instructions noted that you have to hold the button down for 3 seconds to start the pairing process with the screen. Actually installing it on my dash was a bit of a problem. Here in AZ, the heat quickly causes anything stuck to the windshield to disengage. I ended up building a block of wood to hold the screen and put some rubberized material like you use in a drawer to keep things from sliding around under the wood to hold the screen on the dash. I think it will work quite well.
